Over Shafts
How important is the shaft of a golf club?
The shaft of a golf club is an essential part of the club and can have a significant impact on a golfer's performance. The shaft determines, among other things, the flexibility, length, and weight of the club, all of which affect the speed, accuracy, and distance of the ball.
A well-fitting shaft can help a golfer reach their maximum potential and achieve more consistent results. An incorrect shaft can lead to inconsistent shots, a lack of control, and reduced distance.
It is therefore important to carefully choose the shaft of a golf club based on factors such as swing speed, ball flight, and personal preferences. A professional club fitter can help find the right shaft for a golfer to improve performance.
What shaft flexes are there?
We offer the following flexes, among others:
- XX Stiff
- X Stiff
- Stiff
- Stiff Regular
- Regular
- Soft Regular
- A-Flex (also called lite or senior flex)
- Ladies (Woman's) Flex

The flexibility of the shaft is determined by the swing speed.

Please note!: SR can stand for Soft Regular or Stiff Regular.

Which shaft is suitable for which swing speed?
- Stiff (S) flex is for players with high swing speeds and powerful swings.
- Regular (R) flex is suitable for most golfers with average swing speeds, from beginners to advanced golfers.
- The Senior (A) Flex is for older players with lower swing speeds.
Which shaft is suitable for me?
The rule of thumb, and especially the underlying principle, was always:
- If you are a strong and enthusiastic golfer, you need a steel shaft.
- If you are an older player or a woman and/or have a slow swing, you need graphite.
However, this rule of thumb no longer always applies, as graphite shafts have improved and are suitable for more golfers, from beginners to even the Tour Pro. Just as graphite has been used as a superior material in virtually all sports for quite some time, it will not be long before graphite shafts become the preferred choice, particularly for irons. In addition to much greater consistency and profile options than steel, it is also a better choice for preventing injuries.
